Warrior, Save Our Home!

African Dance Troupe_FRONT_2020.jpg

On Saturday Feb 29th, we are excited to premiere an original dance piece

"Warrior, Save Our Home!". The choreography explores the movement and discipline associated with the walk of a warrior. The marriage of traditional African dance steps and movements associated with martial arts will be the foundation of this choreography.

On Sunday March 1, our

Day of Culture II will provide storytelling and dance workshops for children and adults. Click the button below for workshop details.

We have invited some of the finest vendors to be a part of our 2020 Gala Weekend. Come and see their work & wares!

In February 2020 we honored the male warriors of history and our community.

This year's Cultural Gala weekend was exciting and filled with cultural activities for the community at the Jamaica Performing Arts Center in our home town of Queens.

The FANIKE! African Dance Troupe has been awarding the Cultural Warrior Award for over a decade. The 2020 Cultural Warrior Award will be given to Professor Worthy and Wilhelmina Taylor

Thank you for attending this year's annual performance, Warrior, Save our Home! We appreciate your support and look forward to uplifting the culture with you soon.

This project is made possible (in part) by the Queens Council on the Arts with public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council
